Camp Information

Camp Boom Shaka-Laka runs week long camps, from Monday to Friday, for a total of 5 weeks.

 

First week: July 18-22

Last week: August 15-19

Time: 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.

Drop off and Pick up Location: Star Ferry Pier in Central

The camp accomodates two age groups, BLOOMers (4-7) and BOOMers (8-11). Students will go to the same places, but will participate in different activities appropriate to their age and English ability.

 

Online Discount! Book before June 1 and pay only $2900 per week!
Regular tuition for one week is $3900. Depending on availability, students may be able to enroll in single day camps as well. E-mail us at stevezak2@gmail.com for enquiries!

Activities


Sports Day

  • Sports day is held every Monday as an introduction to Camp Boom Shaka-Laka. Students will learn about the camp, as well as their camp mates. We will board our bus and go to a large park where we will hold a sports day with a variety of games and sports!
    A healthy picnic lunch will be provided. A variety of English, art, and other learning experiences will be offered. A library tour and guided reading will also be included!

 

Museums

  • Museum day is held weekly, with different museums every week! Private tours and interactive activities will be offered to keep children engaged and entertained. We will visit the Maritime, Science, Art, Space, and History museums and learn about a variety of subjects!
     

Nature in the City

  • We will start off by walking up the longest escalator system in the world! Stops will be made at various locations, with the aim of learning more about the interesting history of the area. Then, it's time for the zoo where students will get to see and learn about animals from all over the world! After lunch, students will visit Hong Kong Park to learn more about the flora and fauna found in the park, aviary, and conservatory. A private tour of the inner workings of a luxury hotel as well as the Jockey Club Drug Info Centre may also be offered!
     

Farm Tour

  • Students will learn where their food comes from! A private tour and a variety of hands on activities will help students to appreciate their food. A healthy lunch included produce from the farm is included.
     

Beaches

  • We will travel to a gazetted beach with lifeguards on duty, please remember to bring your swimsuit! Students will learn about the beach and oceanic environments. We will also play a variety of games and activities, as well as building sandcastles, of course!
     

Islands

  •  

    Students will travel by ferry to an outlying island. We will explore the village and learn about traditional lifestyles. Then,  we will hike to a waterfall and learn about Hong Kongs' plants and animals. In the afternoon, we will visit the beach for fun and games.
