Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will my child be safe?
- Safety is the most important concern at Camp Boom Shaka-Laka. Only authorized parents or guardians will be allowed to pick up their children, and must provide their ID card for verification. Our activities are designed with safety in mind, and our teachers are CPR trained and certified. A teacher to student ratio of 1:5 ensures that children will be closely supervised.
Q: What happens if it rains?
- In the event of rain, we will arrange suitable indoor activities.
Q: What about typhoons and rainstorms?
- In the event of typhoon 3 or higher, camp will be canceled for the day. During typhoon signal 1, camp will continue as usual. However, if the typhoon 3 signal is likely to be raised, we will return to the Central pick up point immediately and notify parents by phone. During red and black rainstorms, camp will be canceled.
Q: What should my child bring to camp?
- Besides the items listed in the description, please bring a great attitude and a willingness to learn more English!
Q: Which languages are spoken at camp?
- We enforce a strict English-only policy at camp to ensure an optimal learning environment. However, in the event of an emergency, we have Cantonese speaking teaching assistants.
